Being born in a very humble family with both my parents working in the government service, I have grown up following an extremely simple lifestyle. Always a topper in school, my interests lie in debates, declamations, poetry recitation and story telling. A double Gold Medalist at both graduate (from VIPS, GGSIP University) and post graduate (from AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia) studies in mass communication, I always thought of using communication strategies to empower females around me. Dealing with a personal crisis, I realised how legal system and the mediation strategies leave no room for women to deal with emotional and physical traumas in life.Being a media teacher, having taught at Jamia Millia Islamia, Kamala Nehru College, DU, VIPS, GGSIP University and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication for more than 8 years; I sensed the urgency to take up such issues and discourses in the classroom. There has been no looking back since then. I have been involved in individual and group counselling to female students through various mind mapping and creative techniques. In my career, I have recently joined as Deputy Controller, Media Centre, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi.
